How it works

From the call to the installation, in four steps.

Here is exactly what happens, who comes to your home and what you receive at each step.

Freshly renovated empty room with a large window and a glazed door, light wood floor.
  1. The call

We ask for your address, the number of openings and what bothers you: the cold, the noise, a window that no longer closes, a living room that’s too dark. About ten minutes. Nothing is sold over the phone.

    • You get: a visit date, daytime or evening
    • You prepare: nothing, or photos of your current windows
A hand pencils a sketch of a window opening with its measurements, in a notebook on a kitchen table.
  2. The home visit

Someone from the family comes to your home and follows your file through to the installation. We look at each room with you: the orientation, the light coming in at that hour, the current frames, the insulation around them. We measure every opening.

    • We bring colour samples
    • You sign nothing that evening unless you want to
Bright kitchen with pale wood cabinets, slider window above the sink, garden trees sharp through the glass.
South Shore — renovated kitchen, slider window above the sink, installed by EJB
  3. The written quote

A detailed document, not a number at the bottom of a page: the measurements of each opening, the model and series, the glass chosen wall by wall, the colour, the interior and exterior finishes, the warranties and the lead time. Everything we told you at the table is in writing.

A written quotation in a folder, a pen resting on it, two white and black PVC profiles and a tape measure on the table.
  4. Installation by EJB

These are the people you met. By evening, the house is closed up and the site is clean. Afterwards, if there is anything at all, you call Helios. Installation by Les Entreprises Jude Brière inc., RBQ licence: 2632-9516-71.

Finished house with grey and cream siding, white windows and doors, end-of-day light.

Your protections

That is Québec’s Consumer Protection Act. We put it up front because we follow it.

  • A written contract, in French, signed in two copies; yours is handed to you in person.
  • Ten days to cancel, at no cost and for any reason, after receiving your copy.
  • No payment and no work before the end of those ten days.

What we don’t do

  • No inflated price followed by an “end-of-month discount”.
  • No pressure to sign the same evening.
  • No subcontractor you don’t know: EJB does the installation.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the installation take?

The lead time before installation depends on the manufacturer; it is written in your quote. How long the installation itself takes depends on the number of openings, access and finishes: we give it to you at the visit.

Do I need a municipal permit?

It depends on your city. Replacing a window with one of the same size is often exempt; enlarging an opening or changing the façade usually requires a permit. We tell you what to check during the visit.

Can I cancel after signing at home?

Yes. A contract signed at your home can be cancelled within 10 days of receiving your copy, at no cost and without giving a reason. We take no payment before the end of those ten days.

What happens to the old windows?

We specify it in the quote.

Let’s start with the call.

About ten minutes, and a visit date.

In Contrecoeur, daylight lasts 15 h 44 min on June 21 and 8 h 39 min on December 21.

Leave us a number. We call back to set up the visit.
